ONLINE SAFETY

At Westoning Lower School, we teach children how to be safe online. This starts when they are 5 and is built on over their years with us. Technology is now an integral part of our daily lives, and it is important that children are aware of the good it can be used for and the dangers and risks it also poses. In school, we follow the Purple Mash Computing curriculum which covers online safety each year. Please click on the tabs on the right to see what is covered in each year group. This is reinforced when using ICT in other subjects too.

As parents, it is important to be aware of how to keep your children safe at home when using ICT. There are many functions in the settings of devices that can be set up, as well as useful websites such as The National Online Safety Centre and NSPCC. Please see the links below:
